Job Summary
Assign ICD-10 diagnosis and procedures and CPT procedure codes for billing and classification of medical records for both Inpatient and Outpatient charts. Perform coding tasks under the supervision of the HIM Director while adhering to the Corporate Compliance Program and third-party reimbursement rules for Medicare and Medicaid. Requires fluency in English, medical terminology, and anatomy/physiology knowledge. Full-time role Monday through Friday 8a-4:30p, 40 hours per week. PSLF qualifying employer with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Coder (CCS)
- detailed knowledge of third party reimbursement rules and regulations including Medicare and Medicaid
- Complies and adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program
- Must be able to speak English fluently
- Must be able to speak and understand medical terminology
- high school education
- excellent ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CCS coding skills
- detailed knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology

- one year coding work experience in the hospital or physician setting
- certified coding specialist
