Job Summary
Medical Records Administrator role supporting healthcare quality patient care through accurate, compliant medical records in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment. Duties include processing, scanning, indexing, auditing, and maintaining patient documentation (SOC, physician orders, authorizations, CMS-485s, care plans, discharge documentation, and more), ensuring HIPAA compliance, and coordinating documentation with nurses, therapists, and office staff. Responsibilities encompass HIPAA/confidentiality requirements, audits and quality assurance, tracking unsigned orders and missing documents, and generating reports to support leadership and operational teams. Strong attention to detail, organization, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and EHR systems are essential. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and 1–2 years of medical records or healthcare administration experience; capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting and communicate effectively with clinical personnel.
