Medical Record Specialist

Prepare and assemble medical records, organizing them for accuracy and completeness while identifying practitioner deficiencies in Medhost. Maintain both physical and computerized files, ensuring storage adheres to established policies, procedures, and regulations. Process requests, scan records for coders, and assist with department audits including HBIPS and CMS Quality Measures. Pick up discharge records from patient units, assemble new admission folders, and purge inventory for off-site storage. Search and print dictated reports from the transcription system, delivering forms to patient units as needed. Requires three or more years of experience in a psychiatric setting; RHIT or RHIA preferred.
