Job Summary
Greet and check in patients, verify demographics and insurance, and manage multi-line phone scheduling. Maintain the reception area, collect payments, and process referrals and medical records requests while communicating updates to patients. Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs and medical histories, and prepare rooms with adequate supplies. Assist providers with minor procedures, specimen collection, and basic clinical tasks, ensuring accurate EHR documentation and adherence to infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years' experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in EHR systems
- Understanding of insurance basics, referrals, and HIPAA regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) or prior MA experience
- Experience in a specialty practice or multi-provider clinic
- Knowledge of clinical terminology and basic clinical workflows
