Job Summary
Interview patients, obtain vital signs, and document information in patient records while preparing treatment rooms and positioning instruments for examinations. Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections after verifying dosage and obtaining consent, and perform routine CLIA-waived laboratory testing and ear lavage. Operate and maintain medical equipment, process instruments for sterilization, and reinforce patient education materials under written authorization. Manage reception operations by receiving visitors, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. Collect payments, process co-pays, and prepare daily charge batches while ensuring rooms remain stocked and organized.
Required Qualifications
- A willingness to be trained on-the-job in duties not previously learned is essential.
- Experience as medical assistant in a medical office, working in a clinical setting with patients and handling charts.
- Bi-lingual Spanish.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- BLS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification). - Within 3 months of hire into job
