Job Summary
Medical Receptionist I provides front-desk support in a medical office: greeting patients, answering phones, registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining/updating consent forms, creating patient charts, scanning documents, cash handling and basic bookkeeping of copays, maintaining appointment books, assisting with patient portal usage, and coordinating coverage at other clinics. Must maintain HIPAA/OSHA compliance, deliver excellent customer service, handle inquiries, manage documents and supplies, and work well with a medical team in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in customer service, office, or clinical setting preferred
- experience with multi-line phones, scheduling appointments, and using computers
- Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to learn and use Electronic Health Record Systems (e.g., IMS, EPIC and Dentrix)
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 7-8 hours per day
