Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors professionally, check them in and out, and answer incoming phone calls to route inquiries appropriately. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while verifying demographics, insurance information, and eligibility. Assist with registration, intake forms, and administrative questions, then maintain accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR system. Collect payments, process referrals and faxes, and coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff. Monitor patient flow, maintain a clean waiting area, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Complete daily administrative tasks, participate in staff meetings and training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be available for Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule
- Must be available for on-site work in Jeffersonville, Indiana
- Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive patient information professionally
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional with a positive attitude
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical receptionist, healthcare, front-desk, or customer service experience
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare systems
