Job Summary

Perform clinical medical physics tasks in the radiation oncology department under the direction of Lead Medical Radiation Physicists, supervise dosimetrists, and handle administrative duties to ensure accurate and safe use of radiation machines and radioactive sources. Responsibilities include contributing to patient treatment planning discussions, implementing new procedures and devices to improve patient care, supervising dosimetry staff, managing equipment maintenance and calibration, conducting quality assurance and safety programs, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements; requires strong knowledge of radiation therapy, QA, dosimetry, treatment planning consulting, and staff education.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics or a closely related field
  • 1 Year Current radiation oncology outpatient experience
  • Board certification or board eligible in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physicists; must be certified within two years of hire date
