Job Summary
Medical Provider with primary care responsibilities in a community health center setting. Delivers a full scope of primary care services including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, prescribing, and patient education; manages acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and preventive care across the lifespan; provides age- and life-cycle appropriate care; refers patients to specialists when needed; participates in an interdisciplinary, patient-centered care team; offers timely phone advice and follow-up per clinic protocols; supervises medical students, residents, or other learners as appropriate; maintains accurate documentation in the EHR within 48 hours; does not include inpatient coverage, obstetrical deliveries, or admitting privileges. Engages in quality improvement, peer reviews, and preventive care protocols; supports health education and programs; coordinates care across services; attends required meetings; maintains HIPAA compliance and up-to-date licensure and board certifications; follows grant-related program requirements and clinic safety protocols. Required skills include strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and organization, compassionate and non-judgmental approach with diverse populations, experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office, and cultural sensitivity. The work environment is clinic-based with eight- to ten-hour days, and is exempt under FLSA.
Required Qualifications
- Current MD, DO, NP, or PA credentials
- Specialty training or experience in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Womens Health preferred
- Eligible for credentialing in the State of Hawais
- Experience working in a community health center or with underserved, low-income, and culturally diverse populations is highly desirable
