Job Summary
The role of the Medical Professional - Registered Nurse involves evaluating donor eligibility for plasmapheresis and immunizations and ensuring compliance with SOPs, FDA, and CLIA regulations. Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, maintaining accurate logs, managing donors, and performing medical history reviews. The position requires a graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program (LPN or RN) and current state licensing. Additionally, candidates should have strong patient assessment skills, the ability to handle emergency situations, and must possess a valid CPR certification. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program as a Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse)
- Certified/licensed as an emergency medical technician (EMT Basic, EMT 2-intermediate, or 3-advanced/paramedic if allowable)
- Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification, as defined by the state in which the work is performed
- One (1) year experience in the hospital, field care, or experience in a plasma center preferred
- Must successfully complete training program and competency assessments using OPIapproved training modules or training curriculum
- Must maintain current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation
- Must maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent patient/donor assessment skills
- Ability to manage emergency situations in accordance with standard medical care practices
- Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Demonstrate consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule)
Additional Requirements
- Must meet specific state licensing requirements as outlined for various states
- Must have excellent clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work shifts consisting of day and evening hours, weekends, holidays and extended shifts on a frequent basis
