Job Summary
The Medical Professional role at Octapharma Plasma involves evaluating donor eligibility, conducting medical history reviews, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing medical care as needed during plasmapheresis procedures. Candidates must have appropriate healthcare-related educational qualifications (LPN, RN, or EMT certification) and maintain current licensure. Responsibilities include monitoring donor reactions, performing health assessments, and training new employees. Excellent patient assessment skills and the ability to manage emergency situations are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program, such as Physician, Nurse (LPN or RN)
- Certified/licensed as an EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic if allowable
- Must maintain current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation
- Must maintain current CPR certification
- One (1) year experience in the hospital, field care, or experience in a plasma center preferred
- Must understand and follow SOPs and protocols
- Ability to work shifts consisting of day and evening hours, weekends, holidays and extended shifts on a frequent basis
Desired Qualifications
- Must have excellent patient/donor assessment skills
- Must be able to manage emergency situations in accordance with standard medical care practices
- Must have basic computer knowledge and skills
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Possess effective physical and clinical assessment skills
- Strong customer service and people management skills
Additional Requirements
- Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification as defined by the state in which the work is performed
- Must meet specific state licensing requirements based on location
