Job Summary
Lead front desk operations for OB/GYN services by managing provider schedules, verifying patient demographics, and collecting co-payments and outstanding balances in the GE Front Desk Credit Card Module. Oversee scheduling for evaluations and treatments, accepting referrals from social workers, discharge planners, and physicians. Train junior staff on FPI policies, payer contracts, and best practices while troubleshooting patient service issues. Maintain Registration Certification by entering accurate data in the GE Practice Management System and ensuring precise posting of financial transactions. Requires three to five years of medical office experience and current knowledge of referral and preauthorization requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years medical office experience
- Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and preauthorization
- Experience in front and back office operations
- Knowledge of billing and coding for medical services
- PC proficiency
- Maintains Registration Certification
- Demonstrates knowledge of FPI and its practices, including payer contracts, policies and best practices
- Exhibits advanced level of skill in managing provider schedules and scheduling appointments accurately and effectively
- Demonstrates the ability and understanding of FPI policy for cash collection and patient encounter
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the revenue cycle as it relates to patient encounters and obtaining/verifying patient demographic and insurance information
