Job Summary

The Physical Therapist role involves assessing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and promoting recovery to maximize functional independence within an outpatient orthopedic rehab setting. Responsibilities include documenting patient care in EMR, coordinating with PT staff/assistants, providing patient education, participating in billing/coding activities, and supporting community outreach. The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred), be licensed to practice in New Jersey, and have experience with EMR systems; strong teamwork and basic computer skills are required. Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the state practicing in
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required, Doctorate degree preferred
  • Experience/knowledge with an EMR software is preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Works as a team member and individually with minimal supervision
  • Collects and records patient care data that follows format and guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies and third-party payers which reflects an understanding of reimbursement systems and their impact on patient care
  • Prepares for the evaluation in accordance with department policies/procedures and standards of practice including obtaining patient history, exhibiting knowledge of patient diagnoses and researching unfamiliar diagnoses
  • Identifies need for consultations and/or refers the patient to another health care professional or health care services
  • Provides education/training to patient and/or patient support system
  • Training-This includes but is not limited to ADLs/IADLs, therapeutic activities (e.g. transfers, bed mobility), rehabilitation equipment prescription and training and community reintegration
  • Provide data, note writing using Prompt EMR for all treatments provided
  • Oversee support staff of PTA, ATC, PT aides
  • Attends annual JAG Billing and Coding seminar
  • Promotes JAG in the community through lectures/presentations
