Job Summary
Evaluate all equipment for utility, performance, and condition to recommend practical life spans and replacements. Contribute to the design and implementation of the quality management program for external beam radiotherapy, including reviewing procedure changes. Assist in managing radiation oncology information systems, developing usage protocols, and maintaining data storage. Perform radiation safety duties, assisting with employee monitoring, reports, and regulatory issues. Lead or participate in clinical projects to improve department processes or patient treatments. Periodic travel to Mt Pleasant and Greenville sites is required based on POD staff coverage. Valid Texas Medical Board license and CAMPEP residency are required.
Required Qualifications
- CAMPEP Accredited Residency Program in Medical Physics
- Valid Texas Medical Board license
- American Board of Radiology certification or board eligible
- US Citizen / Green Card holder
- Periodic travel to the other two sites
- Periodic evaluation of all equipment for continued utility, appropriateness, reliable performance, age, and condition to make recommendations on practical life span, obsolescence, and replacement
- Contribute to the design and implementation of all aspects of the quality management program that includes the use of external beam radiotherapy equipment as well as the review and proposal of changes to procedures followed by radiation therapy staff
- Assist in the management of radiation oncology information systems, including development of usage protocols, maintenance, and data storage
- Radiation safety duties for the practice, including assisting with employee monitoring, reports, and regulatory issues
- Lead or participate in clinical projects to improve department processes or patient treatments
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred two years of experience as a certified medical physicist
- Working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR
- Experience with Varian linear accelerators
- Experience with Eclipse Planning system
- Experience with Oncentra Planning system
- Eclipse, and Oncentra treatment planning systems
- HDR planning and treatment.
- ARIA ROIS and Mosiaq ROIS
- SBRT and SRS procedures
