Job Summary
Provide radiation physics support for treatment of cancer and other diseases requiring radiation therapy. Perform clinical radiation oncology physics and dosimetry duties; develop quality control policies and procedures for therapy equipment; maintain records of routine calibrations and equipment; coordinate and assist in-service and repair of medical physics equipment and radiation therapy linear accelerators and simulators. Participate in treatment planning, QA programs, dose verification, and performance improvement activities; collaborate with dosimetrists, therapists, and staff; maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements; travel between facilities as needed. Must have strong computer skills, data entry and retrieval of patient information, effective verbal and written communication, proficiency with Windows-based software, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to present information clearly to various levels of patient care staff.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or related field
- 2 years experience in clinical medical physics
- Documented experience in a clinical CT environment conducting at least 10 CT performance evaluations under the direct supervision of a board-certified medical physicist
