Job Summary

Conduct Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy and conventional 3D treatment planning for Radiation Oncology, Medical Imaging, and other departments. Perform weekly patient chart reviews, participate in chart rounds, and execute in-vivo dosimetry and patient-specific IMRT quality assurance. Execute manual calculation checks on treatment plan monitor units, perform low and high dose rate planning, and conduct monthly testing of all measurement equipment. Requires Board certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics and a New York State Professional License.

Required Qualifications

  • M.S. Radiological Sciences/Medical Physics
  • Minimum of three years of Medical Physicist experience
  • Board certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology
  • Professional License in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the New York State Education Department
  • Understanding of radiation physics
  • Understanding of medical physics
  • Understanding of radiobiology
  • Understanding of accelerators
  • Understanding of simulators
  • Understanding of brachytherapy equipment
  • Understanding of treatment planning systems
  • Understanding of radiation safety
