Job Summary
Perform patient-specific radiation measurements and calculations for pencil-beam-scanning proton therapy plans, including quality assurance tests and secondary delivery dose verification. Execute quality control programs for proton radiotherapy and mechanical characteristics of therapy equipment. Conduct radiation surveys of treatment rooms in adherence to clinic policies, state, and federal regulations. Monitor general radiation safety guidelines and host educational sessions for observers, students, radiation therapists, residents, and fellows. Work under the supervision of the Chief Medical Physist within the ICE | CASL Proton Therapy - Dosimetry Department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, mathematics, or other physical science
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
