Job Summary
Accurately post payments from insurance companies and patients, applying contractual adjustments and discounts per established procedures. Ensure co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance are correctly allocated to maintain balanced patient accounts. Review and process insurance denials using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding information, routing claims for follow-up as needed. Assist with account write-offs, research payment discrepancies, and maintain organized Revenue Cycle records. Collaborate with team members to resolve payment questions and participate in department meetings and training initiatives. Protect sensitive patient and financial information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Comfortable navigating websites, software systems, and electronic records
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to identify discrepancies, research information, and follow established processes
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive patient and financial information in accordance with HIPAA requirements
