Job Summary
Medical Partner role in Roche Pharma, Johannesburg, SA. Lead the medical component of the integrated strategy, act as the primary external-facing scientific collaborator, drive local and cross-country medical activities, and accelerate the pipeline with robust data to improve patient access. Responsibilities include proactive stakeholder engagement with Therapeutic Area Experts (TAEs), gathering and translating clinical practice and patient insights into actionable recommendations, designing and executing local Integrated Evidence Plans (IEP) and Real-World Evidence studies, supporting HTA submissions, ensuring compliance with GCP, and collaborating across Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Legal to support clinical trials and license approvals. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, scientific rigor, and the ability to turn complex science into meaningful patient impact. Education is a higher degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Natural Sciences; a minimum of five years in Medical Affairs/Clinical Research is required. Fluency in English is essential, with a focus on building trusted networks and communicating high-quality scientific information.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Higher degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Natural Sciences (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, or a related scientific role in a specific disease area
- Strong understanding of medical affairs strategies, clinical research methodologies, and evidence-generation tactics
- Proven ability to build trusted networks and influence complex environments
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English
