Medical Oncology- Advanced Practicing Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and independent management of oncology patients across new consultations, follow-ups, and treatment monitoring. Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic cancer-related issues, manage treatment toxicities, and order/interpret diagnostic tests while prescribing medications within scope of practice. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care transitions, participate in tumor boards, and develop individualized care plans. Educate patients and caregivers on diagnosis, prognosis, and self-care strategies while maintaining accurate electronic medical record documentation. Requires Master's degree in Nursing, active APRN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Board certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Active, unrestricted NP licensure in Kentucky or eligibility to obtain Kentucky licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an oncology healthcare setting
- National board certification as an APRN (Adult-Gerontology, Family, or equivalent)
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Strong clinical knowledge of medical oncology, including systemic therapies and symptom management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency with electronic health records
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology care
- EPIC experience
- Preferred: Experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology care
