Job Summary
Medical Officer (General Practitioner) responsible for providing patient-centered, culturally appropriate primary and secondary health care services to a defined population within a refugee operation setting. Duties include reviewing program activities, urgent medical care including resuscitation and stabilization, history taking, examination, investigations, treatment and referrals, prescribing medications, minor procedures, counseling, and education. Ensure care aligns with MOH, WHO and NACADA guidelines; conduct daily ward rounds; supervise clinical management with nursing staff; attend to special outpatient clinics and medical-legal cases; support survivors of sexual assault in GBV services; monitor morbidity/mortality indicators and HMIS data; maintain high integrity, professional ethics, and continuous learning within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized University
- Valid practicing license with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
- Over two (2) years’ experience working in refugee operations or relevant field
- At least two (3) years experience of working in a busy hospital
