Job Summary
Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment to assist the physician or physician assistant with patient medical exams. Obtain patient history and basic medical data including vital signs, temperature, height, weight, vision, and chief complaint. Provide direct patient care such as ear irrigation, vaccinations, medications, wound care, and suture removal. Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens as directed. Instruct patients and families on preventive care, medication adherence, test preparation, and symptom monitoring. Contact patients by telephone for follow-up, test result advisement, and relay of physician instructions. Fulfill compliance responsibilities and perform organizational duties for total quality improvement. Requires CT RN license, five years experience preferred, one year supervisory experience required, and ability to exert up to 35 lbs of force.
Required Qualifications
- CT RN license
- One year supervisory experience
- Medical knowledge and terminology
- Computer skills/data entry (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Knowledge of insurance contracts and requirements
- Clinical and business office functions, including direct patient care
- Verbal and written English proficiency
