Medical Office Clerk (PRN)

Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors at the clinic front desk, check them in for encounters, and answer the main office phone line. Schedule medical appointments, determine patient eligibility, and create appointment schedules and templates in the patient appointment computer system. Obtain documentation as requested by healthcare providers and conduct end-of-day processes to resolve delinquent or pending appointments. Perform other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and DoD regulatory standards. This role requires a U.S. Citizen with Basic Life Support certification to work in a high-volume government healthcare contract environment at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- High School Degree or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Must pass TB Test
- Subject to a background/security investigation
- Willingness to comply with DHA vaccination requirements
- Pre-employment drug screening
