Job Summary
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medications per protocol while greeting, identifying, and escorting patients. Collect and document patient data including vitals, medications, allergies, and chief complaints, then perform pre-visit planning to identify care gaps. Assist providers with in-office procedures, diagnostic testing such as EKGs and lab collection, and CLIA-waived testing with quality controls. Monitor EHR messages, provide patient education, coordinate referrals and prior authorizations, and maintain infection control standards. Manage inventory, order supplies, monitor expiration dates, ensure proper biohazard waste disposal, and support front-end duties like answering phones and insurance verification. Participate in team huddles and staff orientation. Requires NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program completion, BCLS certification, and proficiency in phlebotomy and EHR systems. Salary range $24.00–$29.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current BCLS certification (AHA, in-person only)
- Proficiency in phlebotomy
- Proficiency in EHR systems
- Proficiency in aseptic technique
- Proficiency in clinical equipment
