Job Summary
Prepare exam rooms by sanitizing spaces, stocking supplies, and ensuring medications and vaccines are ready. Review upcoming appointments to identify gaps in care such as mammograms and immunizations, then escort patients to rooms while managing flow for efficiency. Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, and medications; assist with procedures including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing. Collect and process lab specimens, track results, and perform quality control on equipment. Help at the front desk by greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurance. Collaborate with providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Requires NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program graduation and BCLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program
- BCLS certification (in-person training only, American Heart Association)
Desired Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT)
