Job Summary

Receive, ship, store, select, pack, and inventory medical supplies and equipment for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command's Expeditionary Medical System. Utilize the DMLSS or HIMS database to process Table of Allowances, manage stock levels, and support disposal of excess or unserviceable material. Perform quality control on transaction records, research quality assurance messages, and review documents to resolve discrepancies. Execute receiving duties by unloading shipments, checking documentation, and segregating materials by type. Conduct inventory control work including counting, examining, and operating material handling equipment. Perform platform stowing of material for rapid deployment and execute Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate operations. Train workers in safe product use and assist with general warehouse maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations
  • Ability to train employees in proper departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language
  • Mathematical ability includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly proficient individual that can adhere to published standards and guidance directed in local Standard Operating Procedures, Navy guidelines, and Department of Defense publications
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and ability to look up and enter information using a computer
  • Minimal computer skills including – Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to learn specialized software related to departmental Operations
  • Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and respond to questions from customers, employees, and others
  • Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Demonstrated organization, problem solving and common-sense skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CAT Card Clearance
  • Forklift Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands
  • Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items
  • Utilizing a keyboard
  • Monitoring computer systems
  • Maneuvering to and around equipment
  • Required to lift and carry weight over 45 pounds
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment during the duty day, such as steel-toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, glasses, gloves, etc

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience operating a forklift, Scan Gun, and other material handling equipment preferred
