Medical Manager - Animal Shelter

Job Summary
Coordinate daily medical operations, including workflow in clinic and surgical areas, patient care, and diagnostics. Oversee spay/neuter schedules, surgical recovery, and equipment maintenance while managing medical inventory and compliance with OSHA and veterinary regulations. Lead veterinary technicians and assistants through scheduling, coaching, and mentorship to foster a collaborative team culture. Support disease prevention strategies, outbreak response, and staff training on animal health and safety. Serve as a Certified Euthanasia Technician and collaborate across Animal Care and leadership teams. This role requires some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or a related field
- 2–4 years of veterinary clinic or shelter experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Some evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended hours as operational needs require
Desired Qualifications
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in high-volume surgery or shelter medicine
