Job Summary
Manage medical malpractice cases involving physicians, hospitals, and healthcare systems from inception through resolution by handling all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents while conducting and defending depositions of parties, fact witnesses, medical professionals, and expert witnesses. Analyze complex medical records, collaborate with medical experts, prepare witnesses for testimony, and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations. Attend court appearances and hearings to develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues. Assist with trial preparation and proceedings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in New York
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical malpractice, healthcare, insurance defense, or complex civil litigation experience preferred
