Job Summary
Perform waived and non-waived tests as defined by CLIA '88 with supervision, ensuring accurate and timely results for patient diagnostic care. Manage chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis benches during Tuesday to Saturday shifts. Assist with department compliance regarding laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements. Collect, receive, and process biological specimens into the laboratory while adhering to established policies and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489
- Meet other criteria defined in 42CFR493.1489 or 42CFR493.1491 (including US military medical laboratory procedures training courses)
- Detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation) or other nationally recognized credentialing agency for review to determine eligibility
- Translated diploma
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy in departments where applicable
- Tuesday to Saturday hours
- Chemistry, hematology and urinalysis benches for testing
Desired Qualifications
- MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB)
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing
- Additional related education and/or experience
