Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
Performs clinical laboratory tests according to established procedures, including quality control, record results, and assist in delivering physicians' reports via phone and electronic distribution. Performs venipuncture on patients of all ages, monitors and maintains equipment with preventive maintenance, manages supply inventories, supports the lab's quality program, and provides teaching/education to students and personnel. Requires CLIA High Complexity Testing qualifications and certification within 12 months (ASCP or AMT) and an associate degree or higher in science, working under supervision in a hospital laboratory setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire
- MLT - ASCP or AMT certification required within 12 months of employment
- Ability to meet requirements for High Complexity Testing Personnel per CLIA
- Ability to work with supervision and in a high-stress environment
- Ability to perform venipuncture and specimen collection per procedures
