Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist role performing chemical analyses and laboratory testing per CLIA/OSHA and JVH policies. Responsibilities include calibrations and quality control, preparing and diluting specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting results, reporting to health authorities as required, and communicating findings to providers. The MLT path emphasizes performing analyses of body fluids, using microscope and automated analyzers, and conducting phlebotomy as part of specimen collection; the MT path emphasizes testing of specimens, instrument maintenance, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols. Requires relevant certifications (ASCP) and appropriate degree per role, with on-site, part-time scheduling at the Springfield, MO location.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology or Associate of Arts Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- One year work experience required in a similar service-oriented industry
- Two years related work experience preferred
- Medical Laboratory Technician certification required, preferably ASCP
- Bachelor’s Degree for Medical Laboratory Technologist
- ASCP certification required for MT
