Job Summary
Perform microbiological testing on clinical specimens and identify, isolate, and analyse microorganisms using standard laboratory techniques. Maintain quality control, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while documenting and reporting results accurately. Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient laboratory operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Work in a methodical manner with excellent attention to detail, participating in out-of-hour shifts as per the roster. Requires Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand registration and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications
- The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
- A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to participate in out-of-hour shifts as per the roster provided
- Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
