Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist (Microbiology E/O weekend)

Job Summary
Under general supervision, perform routine medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, with potential phlebotomy duties. Responsibilities include specimen processing, test performance, reporting results, specimens transport/logistics to reference lab, and maintaining quality control/documentation. Ensure adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies; capable of assisting with scheduling and training; expected to work microbiology-related weekend shifts (Microbiology schedule: every other Saturday/Sunday 8:00AM-2:00PM + PRN) at Austin Regional Clinic in Austin, TX. Qualifications include MLT pathway (associate degree) or MLS pathway (bachelor’s degree) with certification eligibility (ASCP/AMT) and phlebotomy may be required. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or MLT with completion of school laboratory training; ASCP or AMT certification preferred; Phlebotomy may be required; CLIA testing personnel qualifications.
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) - Bachelor’s degree in science related field with accredited clinical laboratory/medical technology program and 1+ year of clinical lab experience or 4+ years of experience with bachelor’s in science; ASCP or AMT certification eligible; Phlebotomy may be required; CLIA testing personnel qualifications.
