Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician with responsibility for performing specimen testing (manual and automated), obtaining samples for analysis, and drawing blood for blood bank. Requires operating laboratory instruments, performing lineari ty/calibrations and quality control per accreditation guidelines, completing proficiency testing, documenting electronic records, and training students/new lab staff. Must utilize Meditech for site batches, assist with clerical duties, and contribute to reagent and supply management. Under supervision, evaluates new products and procedures and conducts other duties as needed. Education: Associate's degree required; certification eligible (ASCP/NB) with WV license if applicable. Memorial Health System emphasizes confidentiality and quality improvement in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Board of Certification eligible (ASCP) or other national certification preferred
- When working at a West Virginia site, WV MLT license required (ASCP/NBCH)
