Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician – Clinical Labs: perform moderately complex diagnostic tests and limited high complexity testing; perform preventative maintenance on select lab equipment or instruments and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as a scientist; promote a culture of safety through proper identification, reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment. Located at UW Health in Monona, WI, this 80% FTE part-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package and shift opportunities (day/evening/night) with evening/night shift differential and a potential sign-on bonus. The position requires an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology (or equivalent education with 60 semester hours including MLT/science coursework) and may prefer 1 year of laboratory experience and ASCP or equivalent certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology (required) or education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (required)
- 1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience (preferred)
- Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency (preferred)
