Job Summary
Collect blood or tissue samples while observing aseptic principles, then process and handle biological specimens according to established procedures. Conduct clinical laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, including chemical analysis of body fluids using microscopes or automatic systems. Perform blood tests for transfusion purposes, develop cell/tissue cultures, and prepare volumetric solutions and reagents following standardized formulas. Maintain and clean laboratory equipment while promoting safety and infection control practices. Instruct patients on appropriate sample collection techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
- eligibility for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized certifying agency
- Must meet all of the job requirements at the time of submitting the application
