Medical Laboratory Tech - FT, Variable Shifts

Performs routine and stat laboratory tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease and follows SOPs under limited supervision. Demonstrates proficiency in clinical laboratory procedures, operates instrumentation, and reports results for waived, moderate, and high complexity tests. Maintains specimen integrity, ensures proper labeling and handling, participates in QC and QM programs, and assists in competency assessments and continuing education. Supervisory responsibility is limited to acting in the absence of a supervisor/lead technologist; may participate in interview processes and guide students or new staff. Shifts are variable, and the work occurs within Prisma Health's Laboratory-General setting at Baptist Easley Med Campus. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to governmental and accrediting standards, data entry, and collaboration with pathology staff and healthcare team members. Minimum education requirement is an Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology with relevant MLT certification/licensure; no experience required.
