Job Summary
Perform all tests accurately and efficiently while recording daily maintenance, quality control, and problem-solving procedures for instruments and reagents. Record results in a complete, readable format using computer systems, notify clients of panic values, and address client questions following established policies. Participate in training new employees and students in technical areas while adhering to corporate integrity, safety, and PPE requirements. Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner. Part-time night shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation. Hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS)
- ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible)
- Comparable certification
- Visual acuity and hand-finger dexterity to work at computer for extended periods
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and data analysis in a potentially noisy environment
- Ability to read/see small print on labels
- Ability to lift and carry, with both hands, weights up to 20 pounds for distances up to 50 yards
- Ability to lift a weight up to 50 pound from the floor to an approximate height of five feet
- Manual dexterity to be able to manipulate various specimen types
- Fine motor skills required to operate the various pipetting devices common to the clinical laboratory
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to repeatedly walk short distances
- Familiarity with and adherence to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company
- Ability to comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas
- Ability to complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner
