Job Summary
Conduct clinical laboratory tests and analyses in hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis. Analyze biological samples for chemical content, cultivate and identify microbial organisms, and prepare specimens for microscopic study. Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment such as spectrophotometers and analyzers while ensuring safety and infection control. Study blood samples to determine cell morphology, blood group type, and transfusion compatibility. Requires occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds. Full-time day shift position at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Main Campus in Jackson.

- National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel CLS(NCA)
- Equivalent categorical registration in Blood Banking, BB(ASCP)
- Chemistry, C(ASCP)
- Cytometry, SCYM (ASCP)
- Hematology, H(ASCP)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP)
- Microbiology, M(ASCP)
- Molecular Biology, MB(ASCP) from American Society for Clinical Pathology
- Knowledge of laboratory and experimental protocols and procedures
- Knowledge of chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations they undergo
- Knowledge of plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells function, intercede with each other and the environment

- Ability to analyze, verify, and manipulate clinical and/or laboratory data
