Job Summary
Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist in Blood Bank on the Evening Shift oversees testing operations under CLIA, including specimen processing, test performance, result reporting, and quality-control activities. Responsible for QC review, training and competency assessment of staff, inventory management, and day-to-day supervision of laboratory operations. May function as Technical Supervisor/Consultant/General Supervisor as defined by CLIA, with accountability for technical oversight, adherence to procedures, and collaboration with laboratory leadership. Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field, ASCP certification, and 3-5 years of laboratory experience; strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences
- ASCP Medical Technologist certification (MLT/MT/MLA/Histologists) required
- 3-5 years laboratory experience required
- Experience with CLIA-tested procedures and regulatory compliance
- Ability to read and interpret test results and supervise staff as needed
