Job Summary
Perform daily QC on hematology analyzers and BacT equipment, troubleshooting issues and generating reports. Execute hematological pre- and post-testing on specimens from collection sites, including platelet antibody screening and cross-matching, while maintaining accurate data entry. Conduct monthly quality control of blood components and perform Titer Testing and bacterial detection testing on cellular therapy products. Maintain equipment, follow SOPs, and communicate abnormal values to staff. Process patient samples according to hospital orders and regulatory protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree from a program with a major in biology, chemistry, or the physical sciences
- advanced certificate in clinical laboratory technology
- education and training sufficient to qualify for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist prior to 2009 as specified in NYS-ED Regulation 79-13.4
- Current active NY State License as a Clinical Lab Technologist
- Current active NYS-ED issued Provisional Permit leading to a full license as a Clinical Lab Technologist
