Medical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology - Full Time

Perform laboratory tests in microbiology and related areas, accurately and precisely to support patient care. Notify appropriate clinical personnel for critical or life-threatening results, maintain records and documentation, and resolve procedural problems. Work with healthcare teams and Pathologists to determine clinical outcomes. Use state-of-the-art instrumentation including molecular microbiology, Rotem coagulation technology, full chemistry, histology and cytology. Responsibilities include phlebotomy and specimen collection as options to strengthen the lab workflow. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Science or related field or equivalent; ASCP certification or eligibility strongly preferred; two years of bench work in a clinical microbiology lab strongly preferred.
