Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Scientist II, Per Diem - Hematology performs waived and non-waived tests under CLIA, following department SOPs and maintaining accurate records. May serve as General Supervisor with duties including Quality Control review, training, competency assessment, and inventory management. Works independently to ensure accurate results used in diagnosis and treatment; reads and interprets test results and ensures proper reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences (with corresponding certificate/diploma) and ASCP certification; 1-2 years of lab experience. On-site position at Mass General Brigham in Boston (75 Francis Street) with evening shifts and per diem schedule. Pay range provided; remote work not available for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Sciences required
- Clinical Laboratory Sciences certificate/diploma required
- ASCP certification (Medical Technologist/MT/MLT/MLA) required
- 1-2 years laboratory experience required
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols
- Effective communication with staff, physicians, and patients
