Job Summary
Perform complex lab tests essential for diagnosing, treating, and preventing medical conditions by processing biological specimens and operating analytical instruments within established policies. Provide interpretation of results, answer inquiries regarding factors affecting outcomes, and act as a liaison between the laboratory and health care teams. Maintain accurate quality control records, ensure equipment functionality, and manage data input on laboratory computer systems. Instruct new associates, assess competencies of test performers, and provide technical guidance to co-workers. Complete required continuing education and in-services.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral, Master's or Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
- transcripts showing 60 semester hours from an accredited institution indicating 24 semester hours of medical technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours in chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical technology in any combination
- meet an alternate qualification route for Testing Personnel for High Complexity Testing
- ASCP MLS or Categorical eligible at time of hire
- certification achieved within one year of hire
