Job Summary
Conduct laboratory testing across all sections, manage specimen processing, and oversee advanced procedures in the Blood Bank. Evaluate quality control data, implement corrective actions, and troubleshoot instrument issues to ensure accuracy and patient safety. Coordinate proficiency testing, maintain inventory levels, and develop new test methodologies while supervising staff and ensuring regulatory compliance. Perform phlebotomy, calibrate equipment, and document all activities in alignment with the Quality Management Plan. Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays, providing technical guidance to assistants and supporting departmental initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related biological/chemical science
- completion of an accredited clinical laboratory practicum or internship consistent with CLIA'88 requirements for high complexity testing
- Two years working in a clinical laboratory as MLS or 4 years as MLT
- at least two years of high complexity testing
