Job Summary
Provides technical and non-technical laboratory services, performing routine and complex tests to deliver accurate results to physicians. Operates and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, maintains quality control standards, follows specimen handling procedures, and ensures data accuracy in the lab information system. Assists in quality assurance efforts and trains new employees. Must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and may be considered for Technician roles if near completion of degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Successful completion of clinical rotation in relevant area
- Potential to be hired as Technician if within one semester of graduation
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (or equivalent)
- Experience in laboratory testing and quality control
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain certification within 6 months if hired as Technician or in Training
- Not qualified for delegation of supervisory duties for NY testing areas
