Job Summary
Send specimens to referral laboratories per hospital and state regulations, verify submitted orders, and enter results into the laboratory information system. Assist with inventory management, quality control, and other assigned laboratory duties. Performs testing of patient samples, interprets results for supervisor review, maintains quality assurance protocols, and conducts equipment function checks and maintenance. Coordinate with staff across departments for test result acquisition and reporting, perform inventory counts, and restock supplies per storage regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's)
- ASCP certification must be obtained within one year of employment
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
