Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Scientist for Core Lab performing specimen processing, testing, and data interpretation to support diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include receiving and preparing specimens, performing routine and specialized tests, conducting quality control, calibrating and maintaining analytical equipment, documenting results, and ensuring privacy of patient information. Requires understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards, proficiency with Windows-based systems, strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical laboratory environment. Shift is 7 on/7 off; must be able to travel between facilities as needed. Must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related sciences field and a current state license (if applicable) with generalist or discipline-specific ASCP/AMT/AAB certification; CMA/CMI-like responsibilities and proficiency testing oversight may be involved, with an emphasis on accuracy, safety, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable)
- ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist OR ASCP categorical or AAB individual discipline certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist
- ASCP Certification Maintenance Program for post-2004 hires
