Job Summary
Part-time Night Shift Medical Laboratory Scientist/MLS Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/CLS JRN personnel perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution, often collaborating with acute-care and outpatient caregivers and other Laboratory Services staff. The role promotes a team concept aligned with Providence Health and Services’ mission and values, delivering high-quality patient-focused care. The successful candidate will adhere to required standards and contribute to the department’s operations and patient care objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program
- Bachelor's Degree Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
- National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists upon hire
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologist upon hire
- 1 year of Experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description
