Job Summary
Operate laboratory instrumentation and disciplines, managing supply inventory, quality control, calibration, and reagent preparation while initiating corrective actions. Perform basic to complex clinical laboratory tests using established protocols, distinguishing abnormal parameters to ensure rechecks and alerting appropriate staff. Communicate laboratory data and technical information accurately to departments, critique results, and participate in developing protocols and training new employees on equipment and procedures. Provide guidance on specimen collection, handling, and storage guidelines, potentially collecting specimens as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical or clinical Laboratory Scientist degree, or a related chemical, physical or biological degree
- Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical Technology degree
- MLS - American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 1 Year
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 Year
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
- On-call every Thursday
- On-call coverage evenings, weekends, and holidays
